At some point in your life, you will experience suffering. People don’t like to talk about it, but it is naturally wrapped up in the world.

Fortunately, there are usually things you can do to mitigate it. While it isn’t pleasant or always avoidable, people have tried various approaches to lessen it over the years, some of which may work for you.

Acknowledge Your Feelings

You’ll want to start by acknowledging that you feel bad. Suffering isn’t always a perception. It’s also something that contains hidden lessons and opportunities.

When you acknowledge your feelings, you don’t give them anywhere to hide. They’re out in the open, so to speak, where you can look at them for what they are.

Focus On Things You Can Control

The next step is to focus on the things you can control, something that a lot of sages and wise people have advised throughout the years. If something is outside of your power, then there isn’t always a lot you can do to change it.

When you focus on what you can control, you give yourself a form of sovereignty. You also take action on smaller things, putting you in the driving seat.

Connect With Someone

Another option is to connect with someone. This individual could be a friend, mentor or someone else who understands your situation. These days, it could even be AI. What you want is someone who can understand what you’re going through and help you with it. Even just acting as a sounding board is often enough.

Get Out Into Nature

Getting out into nature is also an option. Walking in the park and getting some fresh air can make a significant difference in how you feel. Escaping a synthetic environment and replacing it with a natural one can have powerful effects that start acting quickly, sometimes immediately.

You can also just get some sunlight. Many people find this healing.

Use Supplements

Another approach is to use supplements, a strategy that works for a lot of people who suffer regularly. These can take away some of the angst and make you feel better, even when things seem to be going quite wrong.

For example, you could try various herbs, like rhodiola, lion’s mane or ashwagandha. You could also take a Delta 8 vape pen with you and use it if you feel the pain coming back.

Write It Out

Therapists also sometimes recommend that you write things out. Jotting words down about how you feel can be therapeutic and helps you put your experiences into a language your mind can understand. It often prevents vague feelings of unease or pain from dominating your life.

Only Eat Nourishing Foods

Finally, you can often reduce suffering significantly by focusing on only nourishing foods. Getting enough sleep and staying hydrated is critical.

If you can, also increase your fiber consumption over time. You want to consume as much of it as possible to keep you on a healthy track and ensure that you get all the nutrition needed for the body.
