I live in North Carolina, which is known for its’ crazy weather! It stays summertime warm well into October. My sisters and I used to joke that it never gets cold until the night of Halloween, and we would be so upset about having to wear a coat over our costumes! Suffice it to say, Summer blouses and tops are still a Fall staple for us Southern girls!
I get a lot of my blouses from JC Penney, as I loooove their Worthington line for work blouses and casual knits. Many of their short sleeved or sleeveless blouses are thin enough to be worn seamlessly with a cardigan, jean, or moto jackets in the Fall! I’m showcasing two of my favorite summer blouses from the Worthington line, and hopefully providing a little inspiration on how to take your fave summer pieces into Fall!
This pretty blouse is my absolute favorite from the Worthington line! Unabashedly summery with its pretty pastel print, and ruffled neck and sleeve detail, this top is so feminine and lovely!
How to Transition: Summer sleeveless tops play nicely with lightweight blazers for Fall! I completed this look with caramel colored pumps, but ankle boots, or even riding boots would look very chic with this blazer. This blouse is quite thin, and will also pair well with a belted cardigan!
This cornflower blue floral print blouse is such a staple piece for me! I often wore it to work with navy slacks, or a pencil skirt, but I also love pairing it with denim, as seen above! One feature I love is the tie front accent, which can be worn higher at the neck (for a sexy secretary look) or tied loosely for a more casual look, as I did in the photo.
How to Transition: I paired this top with open toed booties, which are such a perfect shoe for Fall! These boots are from Charlotte Russe. Blouses like this are also perfect for wearing under boyfriend Cardigans or long knitted Dusters.
I’ve picked out some of my favorite blouses from the Worthington line at JC Penney that will be perfect for Fall! Use my Transition tips above for the sleeveless and short sleeve tops! Shop the widget below – be sure to scroll all the way through!

See ya next time!

I love the jacket from outfit one! That blue is stunning. I live in Texas and it’s nearly warm all year around so if we do get a burst of cold air I do as you did and through a blazer or cardigan over my summer tops. Thanks for sharing!

I favor the Worthington line as well. Even though it is a great work item, I find that I can dress it up or down for many needs. The material washes and dry clean well?

Cute blazer – fits you exactly right. Here in Indiana it is all about layers in September. It can be chilly in the morning then 90 in the afternoon. It is crazy!

I love the look of summery tops under jackets and cardigans. Its also very helpful for those hot flashes to be able to quickly remove layer.

I’m loving outfit #1 – the color completements your skin so beautifully!
September 22, 2017 at 4:46 pm
I love both of your outfits and would totally wear them myself! Love the blue / teal blazer, especially! One of my favorite colors and shades. Weather? Well, in Maine, we sometimes have frost in October (“frost on the pumpkins”) … even snow for Halloween!

Great tips I’ve been using blazers a lot lately too. I’m trying to resist bring out a sweater.

These looks are great! Loving the colour of that blazer:) Thanks for sharing!

You look fantastic in both looks! I really love the colors of fall so I wear a lot of orange and mustard yellow. But your pops of blue make me want to incorporate more of those.

I like Look # 2. I am more of a casual dresser so that really appealed to me. The blazer looks great too. Putting it on can help shift from casual to formal in a flash. 🙂
