Starting a blog is a big decision to undertake. You’ve got a lot of competition, no matter the niche you choose. You’ve got to have the right tone and writing style, to make sure people are always interested in what you have to say. And you’ve got churn out some fresh content on a regular basis, at least twice a week! That’s a lot of effort, and when you’ve got a load of responsibilities else where, you’re going to feel like Superwoman by the end of the week!
You’ve worked hard on your blog, so congratulations for sticking at it and sharing with the world everything you have to offer! But because you’ve put so much time and effort into your corner of the internet, why not take a step further and turn your blog into a money maker? Or a bit of a cult following hotspot? Either way, here’s a couple of tips on taking your blog to the next level, no matter what level that is.
Write Something Engaging
You want readers and other visitors to stay on your blog as long as possible, as retention time is the best measure by which you can stack up your success. So in order to take your blog to the next level, you’re going to need to undertake a bit more writing and something exciting that’s pretty much going to sell itself.
There’s a lot you can write about on the internet, and there’s plenty of ways to make your blog post stand out compared to someone else’s. So, you can take on blogging challenges, you can publish some thought and opinion pieces on the hottest topics going on in the world right now, you can appeal to a select niche that you already have an interest in; the list goes on and on. Just make sure you do it!
Attracting More Readers (and maybe even a customer!)
Readers come in their droves because of an interesting topic or niche you’ve taken on, but you need to make sure your blog logistics match up to the traffic as well. You want to be sure the hosting site you’re on doesn’t slow down with all these people trying to access your blog, as even a 2 second delay can cause someone to click off again!
At the same time, if people can make accounts with your website, or you have a shopping portal for an experimental mug or t-shirt you think people might be interested in, keep their details as secure as possible. Head on over to the Jumio data privacy compliance program if you’re not sure of the first thing to do when it comes to setting up a secure server. It’s for the good of your blog, so it’d be worth it to invest!
Taking your blog to the next level won’t be easy, but it’ll always be worth it!
See you next time!
