We’re in the middle of a history making moment in America: The Corona Virus epidemic has led to most of our jobs and schools being shut down to allow us to adhere to the recommended “social distancing” guidelines. While this is a semi-scary time for many Americans who don’t know what to expect, this is also a chance to get caught up and watch everything in your Netflix queue! Put on your coziest snuggle clothes, grab your remote, and watch my Netflix “Quarantine & Chill” official recommendations!
Itaewon Class
This mega entertaining K-Drama (Korean dramas for the uninitiated) will hook you from the first episode, whether you like foreign shows or not! The acting is superb, the drama is good, and writing is super smart (seriously, all events and characters in this series tie together in the least expected ways). This is a Netflix original series and it kind of follows along the trail of Orange Is The New Black, in that you learn the backstory of each character as the episodes progress. The pacing can be a bit slow at times, but it’s only because the writers want you to build a relationship with the characters. You will LOVE this one!
Outbreak
Because, why not? ??♀️ I love that Netflix brought this classic gem back out during such a time as this, only to serve as a reminder of what can happen if you don’t obey CDC recommendations. #SocialDistancing
Purple Rain
There’s a virus out there folks! We pretty much all need to take Prince’s advice and purify ourselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. All jokes aside, the music in this movie is phenomenal, and Prince was just a bonafied star. Purple Rain is packed with amazing musical performances, parental drama, and the usual love triangle. The acting isn’t always the best, but who cares? This movie is everything!
Groundhog Day
This is one of my all time faves in which the title character is doomed to repeat the same day, at least until he gets it right! Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell play off each other so well, and their lighthearted banter and tension carries the film all the way to the happy ending. We will probably feel a bit like Bill after being stuck in the house for next 2 weeks.
You
I’ve loved Penn Badgley since his turn as “Lonely Boy” Dan on Gossip Girl. Thanks to Penn’s natural boy next door persona, you’ll find yourself wishing the best for his character Joe, despite him being a complete sociopath. Season 1 of this Netflix original show will have you totally hooked if you haven’t watched yet.
Justin Timberlake & The Tennessee Kids
If you’re a JT fan (I’ve been one since the days of N’Sync and Cry Me A River), you’ll love this behind the scenes look/documentary into his last tour.
The Rom Coms
I’m batching these because there are so many great ones on Netflix right now! Sex and The City 2 is up, along with He’s Just Not That Into You, To All The Boys I’ve Ever Loved, The Kissing Booth, The Ugly Truth, Ghosts Of Girlfriend’s Past, Take Me Home Tonight, Love Rosie, etc. Just watch ’em all.
Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2
You’re stuck in the house so you might as well watch someone go on a rip roaring rampage of revenge. Even better if it’s Uma Thurman! We’ve all seen these movies probably fifty times, but what better time than during a quarantine to hear Beatrix issue a not-so-subtle fight challenge to a 4 year old?
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World
Words cannot express how much I love this movie! If you’re a gamer and haven’t seen this, stop what you’re doing now, and queue it up! Michael Cera is so affable and charismatic that you totally root for him to complete his “quest” and secure the heart of Ramona Flowers.
Space Jam
It’s been a rough time for b-ball fans. The tragic loss of Kobe Bryant rocked the world, and then it was announced that even the NBA is on quarantine! Might as well watch this family movie featuring the greatest to ever do it: Bugs Bunny! (Oh, you thought I meant Michael Jordan? Well, he’s here too! ?)
A Little Princess
This one is a special recommendation because this was my favorite movie when I was a little girl, yet it still manages to avoid seeming “dated” and is just as entertaining for kids today! This movie is magical, aesthetically beautiful, and imparts careful lessons without being too “preachy”.

I like supernatural stuff too in addition to RomComs so I am rewatching the original Charmed. I also love You even though he is a sociopath.
