Hey Socialites! I have always been a sucker for a great bag (shoes and bags always fit, no matter what size you are!), and there are certain handbag silhouettes that are not only fashion forward, but also functional! Most women I know have so many essentials that they cart around daily: Cell phones, tablets, cash, cards, etc., and they need a bag that will allow them to carry all of these items, and feel secure while doing so. Enter: the backpack!
Starting in 2018, the ‘”hot trend” became backpacks, and designers are still creating (and enlarging) them! They are not only on trend, but they are soooo practical, especially when you want to look put together, but need to be hands free! I still carry my Neverfull a lot, but the backpack trend is a welcome relief for my aching shoulders and forearms! LOL. Who doesn’t love those rare combinations of fashion and comfort?!!! I recently fell in love with this simple Michael Kors cognac leather backpack that seems to go with everything:
Backpacks come in all colors, materials, and sizes. If using a backpack for style purposes, I recommend sticking with a medium sized or smaller bag, in order to avoid the “student look.” Leather is always a luxe choice for material, but nylon and canvas styles are also eye-catching, and suitable for use in all weather. Feeling adventurous? Play with patterns, or wild embellishments! Backpacks are meant to be an accessory, so feel free to show off your fun or quirky style sensibility!
