Hey Socialites! The countdown to Black Friday has begun! While it’s no secret that I shop year round (lol), I try to take advantage of major deals whenever I can, so Black Friday, with all of its chaotic-ness is right up my alley!
The crazy crowds and the gotta get it right now energy can be overwhelming to many shoppers, but I promise that if you approach Black Friday and Cyber Monday with a game plan (and coupons) in tow, you can score some amazing deals, all without costing your sanity, or your bank account! Here are my tried and true tips to help you find some great Black Friday deals!
Coupon Crazy
The holiday season, and particularly Black Friday, is the one time of year when it’s ok to be the crazy coupon lady! Over the past 2 weeks, you’ve probably had a ton of sales flyers, ads, and postcards from stores in your mailbox. Don’t be so quick to throw those glossy papers away: They often have coupons for as much as 40% off (in addition to the sale price) inside! Get your coupons ready. Scour the ads, and clip clip clip!
Emails are Key
Subscribe to your favorite retailers for the best Black Friday deals. They’ll be sending out a ton of advertising emails with promo codes for online shopping, and printable coupons to take to the store. Most retailers will have Doorbusters and special Black Friday hours, so be sure and read the fine print! Socialite Tip: If like me, you get tired of having so many store emails clogging your inbox, you can easily create a new email address that you use just to sign up for deals and promo codes. Just remember to keep the login info handy!
The Early Bird…
Catches the worm, or shall I say, the in-stock deals! Black Friday is chaotic, and a lot of people don’t like visiting the stores due to the rudeness and sometimes aggressive actions of other shoppers. My advice if you venture out is to go early! Arrive at the store an hour or two before the sale is projected to begin to ensure that you will be able to grab the items you want/need before the mad rush begins. With that said…
Have a Game Plan
Your Black Friday shopping plan should be as detailed as an NFL coach’s clipboard on Sunday afternoon! Arrange items in priority from greatest need to “eh, I can wait.” From my research and experience, electronics and kitchen products tend to sell out crazy fast, so I recommend starting with those if you need to grab a new TV or air fryer! (Of course, you can always try a pawn shop if all things fail.)
Jump Online
Online shopping is my favorite, because it’s super fast, convenient (Hello! Shopping in my cozy pj’s? I’ll take it!), and you don’t have to brave the crazy crowds or cold weather to snag the best Black Friday deals! A word of warning: Online retailers can sell out just as fast as brick and mortar stores, so don’t wait all day to log on. Many stores, like Nordstrom, are really great about restocking, but I still recommend making your purchases early and quickly. The great thing about shopping online is that shipping is usually fast.
